Sharing the truth
by JimmyPage insometimes i want to burst at the seams and tell my friends and relatives about all the new things i've learned about watchtower history and all the falsehoods.
there were times when i thought my mom was more reasonable than my dad and might listen.
but having talked to her on the phone the other day she was all excited about the assembly she just went to.

I can imagine it being hard but maybe you can start slowly sowing seeds of doubt

Have you ever apologize to someone for trying to convert to JW?
by justhuman inthis is just a question that i will ask for the ex-jw's in this forum.
personally i did apologize to my friends in personal, for trying to convert them to jw's.it was a great experience!!!
i told them i was wrong and i was misleaded by a banch of false prophets, and i was really sorry that i tried to convert them to jw's.

Issues That Made You ANGRY While You Were A Jehovah's Witness
by minimus inwhen i look back, i think of some things that really angered me about the organization.
i was raised as a witness and i was taught from a very early age that "reaching out" was the most important things i could do in life.
i was to reach out for "privileges" and get baptized.

Need a guys opinion and ladies feel free to chime in!
by TweetieBird ini have a "friend" and i say that loosely because i don't think that she is a good friend.
she only calls me when my husband is in town to do stuff with her, i.e.
go to lunch, etc.

get rid of her. she has no morals and it seems your hubby is in her range. she does not care about you as she does not care about other women whos men she has engaged. you are just in the way for the moment. im not going to say anything about your husband but the fact that she sits next to him when you leave is suspect.

Are YOU born under "original sin"?
by gaiagirl inthat is, do you view yourself as a member of a "fallen" race of humans, and/or separated from god/perfection/divinity, and/or subject to eventual death because of something an ancestor allegedly did?.
is this even a healthy way to view oneself?.
personally, if there were any truth to the genesis account, then i'd claim descent from the "other" people living outside eden.

I do believe i was born under origional sin but thanks to Christ Jesus I have been cleansed. I believe the Bible was written for all people but as i said before only believers can understand it. I am sad that Adam and Eve did not realize the harm they would cause all of civilizaton but whats done is done. no going back all we can do is try our best to serve God and please him. With the help of his Holy Spirit we can be victorious against this world and the ruler of it. we must keep our faith and never give up.

Why do I cringe? Why am I still so bitter?
by oompa inmade my own personal statement by skipping the memorial, and then went to the next regular ol sunday meeting with my wife.
i tried hard not to pay attention, but still went nuts when the wt said things clearly not in the bible (which i don't even believe anymore!).
so why does this still bother me?

We believe what we want to believe or what we are able to believe. I hear the word sometimes and have doubts about what is being said. I found this to be so when i studied with jw also but as you know there is no tolerence for doubts. This is sad because you know everyone cant possibly believe every word that falls off the lips of the brothers. To voice these doubts point to apostacy instead of curiosity.
I believe only what i am able to believe. isnt everyone like that? no need to feel guilty for your feelings. i think exploration of those feelings is in order.
